Cheers!

Thanks John,

Makes perfect sense now... :-)

I'm tying to get the dual SD card working but no joy asyet.

I have it jumpered for port 80h (all jumpers inserted except second from
left.

Do I need to enable an interrupt?

Cheers!

Thanks John. That worked!

I left it to format the drive over night so it should be done tonight. A 2
GB card takes a looong time to format. :-) I'm just using the Dos 6.22
install disk.

I did try freedos but it didn't boot.

Cheers!

I tried Freedos some time ago with similar results. After two days
I gave up trying to keep it from crashing; but that was on a PC.
The 80188 has interrupts and things in way strange places, and OS's
are written for IBM/PC hardware, and are not abstracted at the BIOS
level.

MSDOS 5.0 and 6.22 seem to hold together well. The trouble is that
so many applications want to write to VGA, MDA, or HGC memory
directly for nice character menu layouts. Bummer.

Luckily, 'fdisk' and 'format' are too old to be in the above
category.
I have uploaded files to the Wiki to update the SBC-188 BIOS as of
07-Nov-1014. Revision: 2.3-44; aka "BIOS044".
The most evident outward change is support at the BIOS level for the Dual
SD Card board.
