[N8VEM: 18644] Another mini-M68k computer lives...

Hi group,

I just got my mini-M68k board up and running with the pre-built rom from
the wiki
that includes a basic CP/M 68k 1.2 system. Which unfortunately doesn't
seem to have
an xmodem transfer utility that I can see. I'm going to have to figure out
how to exchange
files with this little machine.

After using a hex editor to change the mbr partition entries to type 52h,
the cf card is working
well with it on the MFP board. Init(ing), copying files, etc.

This is BIOS version 0.9, is that the current one?

Anyone know of a CP/M 68k software repository or the like? I'm starting to
get the impression
that not a lot was written for it.

Ed

Yes.&nbsp; BIOS09.ZIP.<br>
<br>
BIOS09 runs on the 1.0 board with update 8/15, and on the 2.0 board
jumpered for 1.0 compatibility.&nbsp; I note that you are running with J9
and J10 both installed.&nbsp; That's a 2.0 board with memory protection.&nbsp;
I'm still running with J9 and j10 both off with BIOS09.&nbsp; BIOS09 does
not recover gracefully from a /BERR fault (memory violation).&nbsp;
Please let us hear of your results with misbehaving User mode

Check the Digital Research page at:&nbsp; <a

<br>
Down at the 68K section one of those zip files has a large number of
utilities.&nbsp; I think there is even a C-compiler in the lot.&nbsp;
Alcyon-C, perhaps.&nbsp; It may be useful in putting some utilities
together from source.&nbsp; I do not recall whether an XMODEM or similar
program was present.<br>
<br>
Let me know if I can be of help in putting more utilities into the

Hi Ed!

I have to congratulate you on an excellent build! I have a Z80 CP/M v2.2 fully functional myself in an FPGA. The reason I mention it is while I have been scouring the internet for CP/M software I have found some CP/M 68K files as well. Just put in CP/M 68K into bing.com and you should get some hits. I hope this helps. By the way, my entire Z80 microcomputer can sit in the palm of my hand excluding the VGA Monitor and the PS/2 Keyboard of course. Mine also has two RS-232 serial ports with hardware handshaking so if this Mini-M68K CP/M SBC you built has a serial port, you might want to check out Grant Searle’s Multicomp Z80 CP/M file transfer program He created. You can get source code for his download.com program. Maybe you can use it as a model for a 68K version. I hope this helps. Take care my friend.

Ed,

Here are links to three zip files in my dropbox containing everything I have found for CP/M 68K thus far. https://www.dropbox.com/s/vhrpy8qsnj50qyk/CPM-68K%20%20Manuals.zip?dl=0

https://www.dropbox.com/s/hee8hnfuuwejzhv/CPM-68K.zip?dl=0

https://www.dropbox.com/s/3ttpvbdz4o0dgm0/CPM-68K%20%20Source%20Code.zip?dl=0

You are welcome to check out the files and see what you might be able to use. Have Fun!

Hi Ed!

I recently built a CP/M 68k machine using an old MVME110 board and a
bitbanging SD card interface.

I use cpmtools under linux to transfer files to disk image.
You can use them under windows with cygwin.

There is very little software available on the net.

You can transfer files over serial port using gkermit.
http://www.columbia.edu/kermit/gkermit.html

Some cp/m 68k software is available on
http://www.cpm.z80.de/binary.html

There is a version of uemacs, running under simh
http://schorn.ch/altair_beta.php
You can use simh disk images, extract the files you want with cpmtools and
transfer them to your disk.
It should work if you use a vt100 compatible terminal.

Best regards,

Thanks for the software leads everybody.

This is my first 68000 based computer, other than older Macs.
I'm looking forward to learning a little 68k assembly, I've read that it's a
nice CPU to write for. Should be fun. :)
