I've completed two 12 slot N8VEM ECB chassis using the V1 backplane. The
woodwork is vaguely Victrola inspired, cubes on stilts with doors on top
and front. Half inch hardwood plywood, finished with pecan stain and some
coats of poly. The lower door conceals a storage shelf, partially occupied
by a mean well 12V to 5V switching power supply and a amphenol powerpole
connector for the 12V. One is trimmed out completely in brass, one in
chrome, to tell them apart.

Here's a G+ link to the pics

Or I'll attempt to link directly to google photo here.

Now I need some 6U 6809 CPU cards...

Hi Vince,

That's beautiful!
Do you plan to put some form of a front panel, "blinken-lights" style,
or you prefer to keep the vintage look-and-feel?

Regards,
Nikolay

I left a very large gap at the top of the chassis and below the top lid
with the idea I could put something on the inside of the top lid someday.

Maybe a small monitor, maybe a front panel? No firm plans.

If I had to do it all over again I'd make the whole project and/or the top
lid just an inch or two larger to insert / remove the entire chassis not
just cards thru the door (access thru back at this time for the entire
chassis)
