[N8VEM: 18724] N8vem SBC v2 pcb

Hi,

According to the n8vem site this is the email to get in contact with those
who have PCBs for sale?

I would like to buy a few PCBs, but thought I would just start with the
n8vem v2.

If someone could point me in the right direction to order one it would be
much appreciated.

Hi Brian,

The SBC v2 is a great one to start with, unfortunately, I don't think
anyone has boards
available right now. I will see if I can put an order in for a small run
of these later today,
as there have been a couple of requests, but it will be around 2 weeks
before they are available.

You may want to look at building the SBC Mark IV (Z180 based). It looks
like John Coffman has
some of these available.

The current group inventory is on the wiki here The N8VEM Home Brew
Computer Project / PCB Inventory
<http://n8vem-sbc.pbworks.com/w/page/35044530/PCB%20Inventory>,
along with contact info.

Hi All,
Is it always possible to buy Some N8VEM SBC V2 ? (2 or 3)
Also, I have some question ? Is it possible to make ECB connector in Right Angle type? I mean I would like to use a little case not like the ECB Backplane but more of a desktop format..

I suppose you could use a 90 degree male connector, but you'd end up with a
really long package,
or block slots. However, this is a single board computer, so if you used
something like this (PPIDE
<https://groups.google.com/forum/#!msg/n8vem/97ylaFp5ciU/UobFzLRRkdwJ>)
for storage, you wouldn't even need the backplane (using the serial port
for a console).

I will study a little Kicad schematics because I never use it before..
I just want to have 2/3 Cards at the end and as far as they measure 16*10cm
(I will have around 30/35 cm long board).
I admit that I need to read more stuff :-)
Thank's for your response Edward.

I suppose you could use a 90 degree male connector, but you'd end up with
a really long package,
or block slots. However, this is a single board computer, so if you used
something like this (PPIDE
<https://groups.google.com/forum/#!msg/n8vem/97ylaFp5ciU/UobFzLRRkdwJ>)
for storage, you wouldn't even need the backplane (using the serial port
for a console).

Hi All,
Is it always possible to buy Some N8VEM SBC V2 ? (2 or 3)
Also, I have some question ? Is it possible to make ECB connector in
Right Angle type? I mean I would like to use a little case not like the ECB
Backplane but more of a desktop format..
Regards.
Neslou.

Hi all,

SBC v2 board finished and working.

I have one question about the PCB - it has a jumper K13 down near the ECB
bus connector which does not appear on the schematics or the pcb mask in
the pdf - what is this for? It is not mentioned in the jumper document.

Hi,
According to the n8vem site this is the email to get in contact with those
who have PCBs for sale?
I would like to buy a few PCBs, but thought I would just start with the
n8vem v2.
If someone could point me in the right direction to order one it would be
much appreciated.

I can't find it on my schematics either; but check the traces. If
they involve bus pins C31 and C26, then this is the RESET option,
an addition to the board after the routing. For N8VEM legacy
compatibility, the correct jumper is 1-2 (RESET out on pin C31).
The jumper position 2-3 allows for compatibility with boards
decades earlier from the German manufacturer Kontron, whose bus
was copied for N8VEM, but with one minor mixup. 2-3 option places
RESET out on pin C26, and Reset Switch input on C31, which is what
Kontron intended.

All of the newer N8VEM boards have this jumper somewhere, although
everyone, AFAIK, is still using the N8VEM legacy setting 1-2.
Hi Brian,

The only similar thing I see is the C13 footprint right next to the ECB
connector (C13 sits between C5 and R12), but I can't find anywhere a
K13 footprint.

Can you post a photo to help visualize this?

Kind regards,
Nikolay

I'm also interested in purchasing an SBC V2 PCB. Are any still available from the Oct '14 batch?

Please let me know purchasing details.

Thanks,

Paul
