Just ordering stuff for the first board and jameco does not do this anymore part number 56941 ls174 at least farnell and rs components do this getting parts first then going to order board and rom cannot wait to start this build just got a job so can start doing all the boards thanks for a great hobby project

Jameco changes part number every so often. So if you can't find a
particular part number try typing generic part number (e.g. 74LS174) in
their search.
Right now it gives me 3 part numbers: 46931, 301760, and 1016979 (this one
is available in multiplies of 25). The difference between these parts is
likely the brand. For 301760 and 1016979 they list Texas Instruments, while
46931 is generic (major brands). Both will do, so take the cheaper one :-)

Also in case you can't find certain components, try looking for compatible
ones, for example 74ALS174, 74F174, 74HCT174 or 74AHCT174. There is a
