Merry Christmas to you too, Wolfgang!
I think it¹s a great idea to have this kind of I/O. I have used the
Peripherals Board for serial at times but a multi-I/O board is a great idea.
I haven¹t looked at the board density, but is it possible to squeeze both
functions on a single board? Maybe use a stacked DB25/DE9/DE9 like on early
PC motherboards? Only issue with that is it would take up two ECB slots, but
so would two separate cards.

Hi Rich,
I donÂŽt know when. But we will see.
The idea was the relaziation of an print / modem "center" with the both
PCB, ECB-ModPrn for serial printer and serial communication and
ECB-Centronix for parallel printer and parallel communication. I have no
experience in RomWBW, but the best choise is:
- CTC on ModPrn to generate the serial clock for SIO/DART
- CTC on ModPrn for time-out-control for ModPrn and Centronics
- SIO/DART on ModPrn to connect to printer via RS232
- Centronics to connect to printer with parallel interface
This works best if the drivers use parts which work with INT in IM2. So we
have more free time and we can implement more effective code. There war in
my brain another idea when I developed ECB-Centronics: a quick parallel
interface with 8 Bit for example to connect to an externer PROMMER....
What do You think about this idea?
@ Wayne: What do You think?
Ok, I have one ECB-ModPrn for testing (to lent), but no ECB-Centronics. We
will see fo a solution in 2015. The next 2 weeks IÂŽm on vacation to my
family.
Best regards and Merry Christmas 2014
Wolfgang
Merry Christmas 2014
I would be interested in two of these boards when/if they get into production.

Hi Rich,
the KiCad-Files are in a ZIP-file on N8VEM-Wiki now. I hope You have many fun
... I hope that next year is for me more time to work with ECB-system an Z80.
Merry Christmas
Wolfgang
Post by RichLearyWolfgang - sorry for the slow response! Looks like Fabio has volunteered to
work the ECB Mod Prn. That is great.
Yes, please send the Centronics Kicad files and I will work that while Fabio
checks out the alternative, Not sure how fast I will be but I'll give it a
shot.
Thanks,
Rich Leary
